Terms of use

The deal
boredprof is an AI tutor. You upload your course slides, and it teaches the course out loud while drawing on a whiteboard. By using it, you agree to these terms and to our privacy page.
Your account
- You need to be at least 13 to use boredprof.
- One account per person. Use a real email so you can get back in.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
What you upload
- Only upload material you're allowed to use for your own studying, like the slides your course gives you.
- You keep every right you have in your files. You give us permission to store and process them only to run boredprof for you, which includes sending them to Anthropic's API so the tutor can read and draw them.
- We don't share your uploads with other students.
The tutor can be wrong
boredprof uses AI, and AI makes mistakes: a wrong step, a mislabelled drawing, a confident answer that isn't right. Check anything important against your course material and your professor. It's a study aid, not a replacement for your classes, and not advice for medical, legal or financial decisions.
Use it to learn
Follow your school's rules about AI tools. Don't use boredprof to cheat on graded work or exams.
Don't
- upload anything illegal, or other people's private information;
- try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service;
- copy boredprof's drawings, lessons, prompts, code or design, or use the service (or anything taken from it) to build a competing product;
- resell access or share your account.
boredprof, its drawings, the tutor and the way it teaches are ours (© 2026 boredprof). Your own uploads stay yours.
Plans and subscriptions
- Free costs nothing. Pro is C$29.99 a month or C$99 a semester (billed every 4 months). Max is C$59.99 a month. Outside Canada you can pay in US dollars instead: US$24.99, US$79 and US$49.99. Each plan's limits (tutoring time, courses, uploads) are shown on its plan page.
- Founding price. If you joined the waitlist before launch, Pro is C$24.99 (US$19.99) a month for you, and it stays at that price for as long as your subscription stays active. If you cancel and come back later, the regular price applies.
- Friend codes. A friend's code takes 20% off the first payment of your first subscription, on the website: your first month, or your first semester. It doesn't combine with the founding price. The person whose code you use earns a commission from us when you pay, which doesn't change your price.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically every month, or every 4 months for the semester plan, until you cancel. We'll tell you before a renewal if the price is going to change.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time from "manage billing" in the app. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've already paid for, and then you're back on Free.
- Refunds. If a renewal went through that you didn't mean to keep and haven't used, email us within 7 days and we'll refund it. If something else went wrong with a charge, email us and we'll sort it out.
- Fair use. Plans include generous tutoring time for one student's own studying. If an account uses far more than a typical student in a month, the tutor may switch to its faster model until the month resets. Your plan, courses and history aren't affected.
- The voice. Free includes 30 minutes of the premium voice a month, Pro 10 hours and Max 20 hours. After that, your device's own voice reads the lessons until the month resets. Your plan page shows how much is left.
- Payments and tax. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number. boredprof is a small supplier under Canada's GST/HST threshold, so no sales tax is added to your price for now. If that changes, we'll tell you before it affects a renewal.
The shared drawing library
boredprof keeps a library of original drawings of standard topics that every student can use. Those are ours. Drawings traced from your own slides stay in your account.
Changes and availability
boredprof is new. We may change features, limits or these terms as it grows. For important changes, we'll email account holders first. We'll do our best to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
Ending things
You can stop using boredprof and delete your account at any time from settings. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
The legal part
boredprof is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
